I'm working on plans for building a new house in a couple years and I am going to add a library with recessed bookcases. My wife has a million books, so we definitely need a library and I think recessed shelves really add an extra something to a room. Has anyone here built recessed shelves? Any tips?
I have not but I want some too. Care to come to my house once you figure it out? I'm guessing you have to gut out a part of the wall and then enclose it somehow. Did you already do this since it had been a few months?
I bet they are really nice. We have recessed book shelves in 1 room and I love them. The recessed ones are the best because they take up less room. I did not build them though, so I'm not sure how they were done.
