My other half has decided that our dining room table is just too big for the dining room! I am pondering the possibility of cutting a leaf out of the middle. I'm looking for advice on how best to do this. Pro's or con's? I'm pretty sure I can get a new power tool out of the deal, but what's the best tool for the job? So far, I'm looking at the table slide hardware from Rocklers, is there something better?

I would go with a good circular saw with a good blade. you want like a 24t blade I like Dewalt. then measure carefully and clamp a good straight edge to use as a guide. good luck and let us know how it goes.
